App Approved !!!

Thanks Buzztouch istore have just approved my second app. Its a app to help people build a career, cv (resume), do an interview etc. The Link is http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/buildmycareer/id480763930?mt=8 My development time and approval time was much quicker than my first due to the great help I have received from forum members. What Buzztouch has built is not just a really cool website and software, but an incredible tool which gives people opportunities they never would of had otherwise. I have been out of work for the first time in my life and instead of just feeling that opportunities are slipping it has made focus, I have developed a skill in an area I have always been fascinated in, I have met some very cool people who have responded to the obscure questions of xcode, and most of all its given me a massive buzz. Thanks Buzztouch

That's a very professional looking app! Congratulations, and I perhaps you've just created your next job - making apps! Mark

Well done!!! @Marko: Your expressing your emotion about our project, our gang, and our awesome fellow hackers is really cool. We hear neat things like that every now and again and it makes the server crashes, the cash-burning and the 'dont' get it folks' all worth it. Looks like a quality app from a quality guy.

Good job Marko. Your screen shots look very professional. I particularly like the graphics on the buttons. Did you do those yourself and if you did, may I ask if you used any particular software to create them?

Thanks Martin for the comments, I use Gimp to edit graphics and formats - its a free open source editing software, the icons were sourced from a free graphics site on the Web. Thanks MacApple still using your brilliant Banksy app. Need help on one issue with app, friend downloaded it for her itouch and can only use it with web connection, I put all graphics and docs into app folders? Wanted it to be offline

Thanks Chaka7. Love the pic, I cartooned myself on some website that takes your pic and make a cartoon representation. I had a remote hope that I would look like a disneyfied George Clooney but my cartoon self looked more like shrek.

Hi MacApple glad that in certain lights I look like shrek makes you laugh. There goes my GQ and Esquire modeling contracts. While you are on forum I wanted to pick your brains on offline app. On this app put all pics and docs in BT folders, friend downloaded it to her itouch but can only use it when she gets a wifi connection. Have I missed a setting? Your help as ever gladly received.

Hi @Marko, If you have your app still configured with a Data Configuration URL, and a Report to Cloud URL, it's considered online, and will always make a trip to the BT server for updates. There's a bit of a discussion on how to do that here : http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=304BBD51171F33CA58487B9&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1 Mark

As the good man GoNorthWest says have a peek there. You ate literally 10 mind away frI'm making it fully offline. You can always change back to do a quick change or loOk into push notifications to inform users it has been updated. That's for another day! Still love your menu, great design aesthetic.

Thanks Mark and MacApple for the guidance I have just checked the report to cloud and config data URL I have left both blank thinking that stops it needing to go to BT severs. So I am a little confused why still need to go online

If you shipped the app with it configured to look online for config information, then it will continue to do that until you take it offline, it checks the next time the app is open, goes online and downloads the latest config info (which now has the online info removed), and then is offline the next time the app opens. As long as the current shipped version (meaning shipped with your app) of BT_Config.txt points online, or the latest cached version of the file points online, it will continue to do so until it gets a BT_Config.txt file that no longer has that pointer. Only then will it be offline. You could provide an iTunes update to your app where you have removed the online part of the BT_Config.txt file. That way, after a user updates it via the app store, they have the most current version of the file, which is offline, and they'll never go online. Does that make sense? Kinda confusing, but you're close! Mark

Love it, @MacApple! I guess since I live in AZ I have a bit of his gunslinger persona in me! Quick to the draw! That's one of the amazing things I love about this forum...super quick responses from people. Other forums...sometimes questions sit there forever!

Thanks Mark and Macapple. I have read links and attempted to understand the process. My comprehension is that I can must have set it up with online config then posted to istore and changed to offline post uploading to apple. Now config files are blank it doesnt go back to web but use files that are cached on iphone. What if they haven't been through all of app and still need data that is not cached will the app go to BT servers to find it or will it yield a data not found error. PS sorry for the lack of gunslinger speed of response, I took a 5 min nap that lead to waking up 6 hrs later with my head on the apple keyboard, a don king hairstyle and a qwerty imprint across my forehead. pps - GoNorthwest - in my mind you would beat Billy the kid to a quickdraw
