Images and documents...

I am attempting to incorporate images and documents to my app and I am adding them to the BT_images and BT_docs respectively. Then when I try to add them to my App I just copy and paste the document name into the line for Document or image name on large or small device and save it. However, even after updating either the image just doesn't appear or the document screens tell me that the screen data had not been downloaded. Am I doing something wrong? I have been able to remedy some of these by using a URL but I have some that I need to use off of my hard drive. HELP!

Certain screens are not finished in BT v1.5, so what version are you using? What type of docs?

If this is in Xcode, you have to make sure you add them to your Xcode project as well. You can drag and drop them from Finder into the same folders in Xcode, and then build the program again. All should be fine from that point on! Mark

Just a thought, when you copy and paste the doc name, are you sure the suffix (.jpg .jpeg .png ) is copied?

Mark, Thank you for that info, I am sure that is the problem. I am not adding them in Xcode, just in BT. Thanks. Matthew

Pdf don't work in v1.5 at this time. You can link to a jpeg via a url. I'm pretty sure about that.

i have used some URL links before but was hoping to be able to do some editing to some of the images, just to be sure, URL's will still be present even if the user is using it offline, correct?

Actually, in v1.5 for iOS, all those things are indeed supported (I have three apps using them). They are still working on it for Android. When you added the files to Xcode, did you also make sure you changed the reference to a local file in the App Control Panel? If you have, another thing you might want to try is to download your BT_Config.txt file, replace the old with the new, do a clean build, and see if that works. Oh, and make sure there are no spaces in your document/image names. Use underscores if necessary. Mark

Go to you app control panel, and select Show App's Configuration Data from the menu list on the left-hand side of the screen. That will bring up a screen that has all the information for your current BT_Config.txt file. Current meaning as it sits on the BT server...your local one will be different if you have changed anything since the last time you downloaded code. Copy all this...open your local copy of BT_Config.txt which resides in BT_Config folder, and replace the contents. You now have the most recent version of your config file. Do a clean on your build (probably not necessary, but never hurts), and compile again. Hopefully all will be good! Mark
