Back Button Issues in 1.5

I have a simple menu list style app for Android. When I press the device's back button, the app will just keep looping back through all the screens visited, instead of going back to the home screen, then exiting out. How do I correct this? Thanks, Mike

Put a right Right button on your screen. Go to Show / Hide Navigation Bar Link button to Home Screen or other Screen as desired. Fred

Central Ca...cool, we're neighbors. Not sure what's happening here...the hardware-back key on Android will return you to the previous activity until none in the stack are left then it will 'close' the app.

Fred- Thanks for the reply. I do have the right buttons installed on each screen, but as I have noticed, most Android users typically use the device back button on the phone, and I figured there must be something I am missing or doing wrong. David- We are neighbors. If I recall a few of your previous posts, you are involved with volleyball, so there is a good chance I'll bump into at an upcoming club tournament in the area. As far as your comments go, you are right. That is exactly what it is doing. Going back though the stack, which just got me thinking. Let me clarify my question little. I have a main menu screen with menu lists. Those selections lead to more menu lists, and those selections lead to custom HTML text pages. On each page, I have a right button returning you to the previous menu list. I just played around with the app a little more and think I figured out a better way to describe my issue. If I open a page, then go back using the upper right button, then open another page, go back with the upper right button, and so on and so on, using the device back button will cycle me back through the entire history of everything I just opened. Am I missing a setting that will just exit the program when using the device back button from the main menu? Should I just ditch all my upper right buttons? There is a very good chance that I have done something wrong or overlooked something here. Thanks for your help.

I started down the same road, realized the same problem. Went back to the drawing board to redesign my app. Using buttons menu and trying to avoid more than several level of complexity.

When you say, Same Problem, you must realize it's how you design the app given the framework you're working with that's causing the problem. A fix would be to redesign the app. Tell me what you wish for the app to do and I'll make a suggestion. Fred

Your app works well. The right button on Nav Bar works. It's natural to use. Good design. Fred
