Is it possible to use a .png file to drop the background to your app icon?

Is it possible to use a .png file to drop the background to your app icon? thanks in advance!!!

I think he means a transparent background in the app icon. I don't think you can do this with iOS, but I have seen something like this on android apps.

@Parker and @MGoBlue yes a transparent background for your app icon. is there a way you could do it in buzztouch?

@ ablethedesigner - As MGoBlue was mentioning, Apple will add a background to icons with transparencies. See: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/MobileHIG/IconsImages/IconsImages.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40006556-CH14-SW2 So you can add backgrounds with transparency, but the will be overridden in the app store. I'm not sure how the Android Market handles this.
