apps submitted to apple

hey there buzz-o-naughts using xcode4.2.. In the organizer window I archived my buzztouch project and submitted to apple.. validation was good, and the status says waiting for upload.. does anyone know if I still need to submit the binary via the application loader, or have I already done that and I'm now waiting on apple? FYI - when I try and use the application loader and navigate to the project folder there is nothing in the build folder? is that where the binary should be located?

Hi bracesport, Here is a link covering the process of building and submitting your app. Have fun! http://www.idev101.com/code/Distribution/build.html (Note the link to submitting to the app store near the bottom of this linked page.)

Hi @bracesport, You still need to hit the Submit button in order to actually upload the binary. It'll do another validate, then upload to iTunes. Then your status should change to Waiting for review. Mark

sadly I think I'm an idiot.. everything has been built well and runs sweetly, however iTunes connect is still waiting for the binary.. should I have uploaded the binary with the application loader before submitting the archive? if so, where is the binary stored? as there is nothing in the build file inside the buzz folder..

I use the application organizer to do my work. Here's a pic of what it looks like to me : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4993711/app_organizer.png Here's the steps I use: * Select Device as a target * Make sure all the Deployment certificates are specified correctly * Do a Build and Archive * Application Organizer automatically comes up for me. You can also go to Window...Organizer in Xcode to bring it up * Click on Archives. You should see your app listed. * Hit Submit in the upper-right. This will open a connection to iTunes, as for your login info, and check to see if that app is ready for upload. If it is, it will upload the binary. If it's not, it will tell you that you need to create the app in iTunes so that it can upload it. Also...in iTunes, make sure you've hit the Ready to Upload button so that it's Waiting for Binary. Hope this helps! Mark

thanks mark it seems to me that I have done all that when I named my app in iTunes, I called it myJazz 1, but in Xcode it is just myJazz I wonder if thats a problem? Xcode is doing its job compiling myJazz, but maybe iTunes is looking for myJazz 1 is your buzz file [in Xcode] named exactly the same name as the iTunes one? phil

Hi @bracesport, Here are some things to check in Xcode. I find these in the Info screen of the Target application. These examples are from my application, OVFPS. * Bundle Display Name : OVFPS (the name that shows up in the iPhone screen) * Bundle Identifier : com.thunderstruck.ovfps * Bundle Name : ovfps What has to match in iTunes is the Bundle Identifier. When creating your app in iTunes, you can specify : * App Name : Anything you want (OVFPS in my case) * SKU Number : Anything you want (Something I made up) * Bundle ID : Select from the drop down list you get. Should match basically what you have in Xcode. I have a wildcard bundle ID for all my apps. * Bundle ID Suffix : This must match the Bundle Identifier (com.thunderstruck.ovfps in my case) Hope this helps! Mark
