error trying to create IPA

Hello: I am very new to all this., pls excuse my ignorance. I have OS X 10.6.8 and have xcode 3.2.6 on it. I built my app on buzztouch and the app compiles in xcode in simulator mode. I am trying to follow your directions on ow to create an IPA in xcode 3. The xcode config says SDK IOS 4.3 device ad hoc. I get 1 error that says code sign required for application. Can you help me? Thanks.

You should get Xcode 4 in the Mac App Store. The new SDK is iOS 5. In Xcode 4, there is an easier way to sent Applications to iTunes Connect for Apple to accept them. To code sign in Xcode 4, click on the project name. Then click on the icon of your project in the menu column. The click build settings, and configure the Code Signing. Note: you must log into the iOS Dev Center to create provisioning profiles. To get Xcode 4, go to this link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xcode/id448457090?mt=12

Jake: Thanks for your reply. I will get xcode 4 as you suggest and follow your instructions. I think I need to upgrade to Lion first, right? I have snow leopard now. Tom

If you are a registered developer (you paid apple $99.00), you might be able to get Xcode 4 with Snow Leopard (Lion is cool so you might want to upgrade anyway)
