I just installed 2.0.9 and started working on my first app that is not located at buzztouch.com. I went to the Screens/Actions page and added a Home screen of the menu simple type. When I click on it to edit its properties I get the error below.... any suggestions? Ok, with your help I figured it out. When reading the directions it said to make the 'files' directory writable. I set it to writeable, not only to the owner, but also to 'group' and 'public'. When I took away the permission for the 'group' and 'public' users for editing it started working fine. Thank you, raveyd, for pointing me in the right direction. Shawn

Maybe a clearer explanation in the instructions.pdf about this is needed? And, also, maybe a better check during the install process to save the next person from the same issue? Lots and lots of server configuration differences have been discovered, coded around, and improved upon in the first 10 days of this...I'm sure there's more. But, these are the posts that really do get things moving. Thx!

Hi in Dallas: Can what be explained further? There isn't much we can do to explain how webservers and file system are setup. It's assumed that people who want to run their own self-hosted panel know how to administer websites and server-side software. We do hope to make a few more documents about the package but the install document is about as detailed as we can get without writing literally a 100 page manual about Apache, Linux, PHP, and mySQL. If you'ren not sure you understand how it works you should ask your system administrator.
