Can I make an iphone app on Windows XP

Hi folks Stuart from the UK here. Just finished making a Physical Education app for android on buzztouch (brilliant set up by the way guys, thanks so much) and published it on the android market. Now I want to make an app for the iphone and ipad, but I have a PC and I'm on Windows XP. Do I need a Mac or can I just download xCode and go from there? All help much appreciated!! Stuart

Xcode will only run on a mac. Since the iPhone, iPad, and even Xcode itself were all created by Apple they will only work on a mac. If money is an issue you may try purchasing a mac mini. I believe they are the least expensive macs.

No, xCode must be run on a mac OS, in fact if you don't want to buy a new one, don't get too old of a second hand mac because it needs to run the latest OS for xCode to function....

Hello Stu my advice as someone who started with a pc and eclipse is move to MAC for primary development. Although there is still a lot to learn the Mac is just more straightforward. Once up and running you can download a 1.5 app to either system on a mac. There is something about a Mac that unitentionally makes you a bit smug about things, I dont know why but I would liken to buying a car that rarely breaks down and is nice to drive. You can still act like a plonker during the journey butleast you know you are going to get there. PS you will also need a iphone or pad to upload app to istore (ithink)
