White Christmas Snow Forecast - New App!

Hey guys! Just thought i'd share my new app with you all. Currently only available in USA/UK stores due to data availability. Also currently iOS only - android should be up sometime next week. It uses your location to check the probability of a white christmas (initially using historical data but this will change to an actual probability forecast for this year around 11th December. It also provides a 3-day snow forecast for your location. Finally you can track snow storms around the USA/UK and contribute using twitter hashtags. Check it out: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/white-christmas-snow-forecast/id478366416?ls=1&mt=8 As always big thanks to Buzztouch.

That's a seriously sweet app...nice! I'd buy it, except I live in Arizona, and I would get tired of the 0% possibility of snow! :-(

I'm really curious as to what strategy you employed in making this app. Is it HTML pages with custom CSS or something? Or, are you making some sort of call to a php script that generates the page on the fly? If you don't mind sharing some of your secrets, I would love to learn a little something! Mark

Thanks for the kind comments! @mark It's a combination of html, some css3 for the falling snow effect (you may not have seen this - doesnt really show on screenshots). Then uses some javascript and php to supply the data relevant to your location. If i can help u with anything let me know - i'm away on hols at the minute, but would try get back to u on my return.

Hey, how would you feel about doing a little bit of consulting with me on my app? Mine's been rejected twice, and if I could get a look like yours, I'm sure it would be approved. Outside of the custom code, what do you pull up as your main screen, and how are you using those buttons? If you want, you can email me at [email protected]

Sorry dude. I'm from Alabama - I didn't know what away on hols meant. I hope you're enjoying Australia! I bought your app and really like it. It's an excellent app, and I know it will do well. I actually used some of your look/flow of the app to get the ideas for how to change mine to resubmit - hopefully Apple will like mine this time. Fantastic app - nice job!!
