You can FINALLY use url scheme to open Facebook pages directly in native FB app!

I spent hours trying to get this to work a few months ago to no avail. Apparently with the latest FB app update you can now use a custom url scheme to open up pages (as opposed to profiles) directly in the native FB app. For example, if you open the link below from your phone it will take you directly to the Buzztouch FB page! fb://page/195311247494 Josh

Did you post about it at the time? It's a well known bug with facebook where pages don't detect mobile browsers so they don't redirect to the mobile page. A popular work around was to set a username for the page and use the generated url, which was detected by mobile browsers.

I didn't want it to redirect to the mobile page, I wanted it to open up in the native FB app. Up until last month it only worked with personal profile pages or photo albums. I did create a username for my app's page and that didn't work either (and still doesn't).

Funny, the username method works for me fine. I prefer the scheme you posted though. The username url is a nasty long thing, works ok, just tough to type in!

I'm having trouble with this... I'm trying to go to my page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Drinkly/351910518169424 But it is giving me an error: this page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable... If I use fb://page/351910518169424 or fb://page/drinkly/351910518169424 in the Launch Native App with 3rd party app selected. Any ideas?

Drinkly- I just tried this on my phone and it opened your facebook page up fine. Do you have the FB app installed? are you using ios? If so, choose launch native app. For application choose browser, enter a url. then enter fb://page/351910518169424. good luck.

How do you know that the Facebook app is installed on the iPhone? Because if it isn't, the browser is going to fail, right?!

The way I understand it, if the user doesn't have the facebook app on their phone, it will just open up the page in safari.
