Mobile Application Usage of (Canadian) Educators

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope the start of 2014 has been a great one for all of you. Personally, I got news today that one of my written posts for TechVibes, Canada's leading technology news site, events calendar, and job board, has been approved and is live on the site! Entitled "Best Practices: Mobile Application Usage of Canadian Educators", it's applicable to all educators, but the examples received were from Canadian Educators, hence the title. A teacher from Winnipeg even referenced my application, TGfU Games PE, which can be found at the end of the list! The link to the post can be found here - http://www.techvibes.com/blog/best-practices-mobile-application-usage-of-canadian-educators-2014-01-02 Enjoy and once more, have a great 2014! Nicholas

Congratulations Nick! I enjoyed the post. It is quite an accomplishment you have earned. I hope that you consider applying to be an Apple Distinguished Educator. You can find information about it here: http://www.apple.com/education/apple-distinguished-educator/. There is no class this year, but you enter give your info to Apple and they will email you when the application period opens for the Class of 2015: https://ade.apple.com/apply/. I know that you would be an asset to our community. I have met, become friends with, and learned from some amazing Canadian educators such as Kyle Pearce (https://twitter.com/MathletePearce). His blog is full of great ideas that I used in my classroom: http://tapintoteenminds.com. Another inspiring Canadian educator friend of mine is Michelle Cordy (https://twitter.com/cordym). She is a deep thinker that forces me to think about my classroom and my practices in new ways. Again, congratulations on your achievement. It is well deserved. Brian

Thank you, Brian! I never really considered applying to be an Apple Distinguished Educator, but after reading about it and based on your suggestion, I've submitted my information to Apple so that they could contact me once the application period opens up for the Class of 2015. Pretty exciting! Thanks for the suggestion and for the vote of confidence! I have also connected with Kyle Pearce and Michelle Cordy on Twitter, who followed back almost instantaneously. Of course, I have also followed you on Twitter (my Twitter handle is @GraciousWolf_PE). Thanks again, Brian, for the valuable information and once more for the encouragement! Nicholas
