Auto posting user location to a DB

I've used and pointed many folks to the article by GoNorthWest on using Google and a PHP script to capture a location. In that situation a user hit Submit to post their coordinates. I'm working on an idea that would require the coordinates to be posted to a database at an interval specified (that changes). I'm quite new at PHP but a veteran programmer (RPG/Basic) of 20 years. A nudge in the right direction might get me to be able to google the right stuff :) The theory is to send a users coordinates to a group so they can be located. The user would know that this database was being populated as it would be a temporary process for them. Thanks folks. Graham. Fingers Crossed.
