BT-server-beta-2.0.5 /files Directory Has apache Ownership

Hi, I found this with both 2.0.4 (when I was trying to delete all the files for a fresh 2.0.5 install) and after I did the new install. It appears that the install process, when it creates files in the /files directory, assigns them an ownership of 'apache.' That might be OK, but what it means is I cannot delete those files unless I have root access (which I do, but which other people may not). I also noticed that the plugins which I had uploaded earlier had the same ownership, as well as the trial application I created. drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Nov 4 23:39 applications drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Nov 4 23:39 custom drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Nov 4 23:39 plugins drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Nov 4 23:39 temp drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Nov 4 23:39 theme If this is intended, and OK, then we're good. If not...another bug to fix! Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark, This is intended and is a result of the files being placed in your directory through .php scripts during the install process. Files added through .php as opposed to ftp will have different ownership. This should be OK because the idea with buzztouch server is that you shouldn't have to delete/change the /files directory, or its contents, when upgrading to a newer version. Files within those listed folders can be added/removed via ftp. Plugins aded through the control panel (apache ownership) can also be updated through the control panel (.php). If absolutely necessary you can write your own .php methods to remove unwanted plugins or other files with apache ownership. But you shouldn't really have to.

Hi Parker, Sounds good. Just caught me off guard that there were some files I wasn't able to delete without chown first. Once I got passed that, all was well. Since everything else was under my user ownership, I just wanted to check and see if those should be as well. Keep up the great work! Mark
