I just discovered an error that will cause The configuration data for this application is invalid error. Menu list -> HTML Doc screen. When you add Description Tag (line 2) (Menu Item proporties) and copy and paste text from word/text editor make sure that the text doesn't contain ANY carriage returns. It totally messed my app up.
