BuzzTouch Server Error

I keep getting the error when I try to run the install script You should have already created an empty database and user as described in the README.txt file included with this software The database should have utf8_unicode_ci as the collation (see image). The database user must have SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and CREATE privileges. If you're unsure what this means, ask your system administrator for assistance. This installation process does not create an empty database. If you're on a shared host your account type may not allow you to create new databases. In this case, they probably already provided you with a database and login. This is OK. This software can run on the existing database. If you're unsure what a table prefix is, use the default bt_ prefix. Application PHYSICAL PATH: Like: /var/vhosts/domainname/httpdocs/BT-server (not a URL)

Ah, OK. Just installing the BT Server myself and saw same error, working on it now, will let you know what I find. I know I had to change 'localhost' name on my config file, will post back.

It would be helpful if there was a sql that we could just insert through phpmyadmin and then just edit the config.php but the tables are created through the install script

I hear you. I have an empty DB, have changed the config file to have my details but stuck at same stage as you. Filea folder is writeable, empty DB is setup, localhost changed to my DB path but just lands in that error you mention. Filling my coffee cup then back to it!

Are you using an external or internal db host? That could be the issue. M.

The text box to enter the path was not showing up in Safari for me, switch to Chrome and the path text box showed up.

Hi guys...away from the forum for a few days working out 2.0.7. Expect that release / install tomorrow. I looked at the existing install scripts you guys have. The .php pages in the /install directory are index.php, install_2.php, install_2.php. All three of these files have a reference to a scripts.js file. This file does not exist! It did at one point (in the install folder) but was removed and the HTML was not updated to reflect the fact that it's no longer used / needed. It's removed from the HTML in those three pages for the 2.0.7 release. Your server may be setup to stop processing if it has a reference to a script file that doesn't exist. This means you could easily remove the scripts.js reference in the head section of those three pages and give it a go. Tons of these are installed already with minor issues (we've been fixing all reports) so it should work. @ xpack: We agree, included a cut-n-paste version of the database install script in the /install version makes sense. This would allow you to create the db using phpMyAdmin manually. We'll see if we can get that included in the 2.0.7
