BT 2.0 - 500 Internal Server Error

Uploaded the new 2.0 server release to a VPS box running Apache/2.2.21 (CentOS). It is setup in a subdomain like bt.mydomain.com. Going to bt.mydomain.com/install/ results in a 500 error. I made sure the files/ was set writable to 755, so that can't be it. Looking at error logs see it is .htaccess file. Getting this in logs: [Thu Nov 03 09:47:17 2011] [alert] [client 74.***.***.106] /home/admin/mydomain/bt/.htaccess: Invalid command 'php_value', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration The way I fixed was change .htaccess file to (note the Ifmodule info at start and closing of php_value): <Ifmodule mod_php5.c> php_value upload_max_filesize 75M php_value post_max_size 75M php_value max_execution_time 360 php_value max_input_time 360 php_value memory_limit 256M </Ifmodule> Posting in case others run into this problem. Terry

Looks like we'll end up removing the .htaccess file and the missingURL directory all together. Lots of options server-side change how this works so we'll probably just avoid it altogher. .htaccess is only useful for folks that 'get it' anyway. If it were not there you would have had no problems (I don't think)

Can understand that David. No big deal for me on server side setup. Now if I can just master making apps, lol Appreciate the hard work you guys are putting into this.

Hostgator Buzztouch 2.0.4 - Removed php stuff from .htaccess which is needed for Hostgator, gets to the tick and go forward and continue. \ Files dir permissions 0777. url included below - i have xxxx the database stuff but you might be able to see the error. http://killercommissions.com/BT-server/install/install_2.php?appURL=http://www.killercommissions.com/BT-server&dbTablePrefix=bt_&dbPass=xxxxxs&dbUser=bright_xxxxx&dbName=bright_xxxxxx&dbServer=localhost&path=/home/bright/public_html/killercommissions.com/BT-server Forbidden You don't have permission to access /BT-server/install/install_2.php on this server. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Regards Craig

Craig, I have found many times if you set a directory at Hostgator to 777 you will get 500 errors. On most all HG servers 755 is fine.

Just remove the .htaccess from the root and remove the missingURL directory all together. The .htaccess is a bad idea and the only thing the missingURL folder does is handle broken links in an elegant way. But, if your host wont allow .htaccess all sorts of stuff goes wrong.

That error popped up for me when I didn't edit the config file or remove the install folder (just to see what would happen :-))
