1.5 Android PDF

Don't see this in the readme file... I can't get any of my app's PDF files to open. It asks Open with which app? No applications can perform this action. I have Adobe Reader installed, it works to open PDFs outside of the buzztouch app. Don't see a way in Android to explicitly tell it to use Adobe Reader for PDF files. Anyone? Thanks, Lost as usual, Tim

Hi Tim, That screen, as well as a few others, are still waiting for the phase 2 release for v1.5 Android. We will start working on that again after we have the buzztouch Server 2.0 package all squared away. So, you can either wait for us to release phase 2, or you can dig into the .java file and finish the coding yourself. There should be lots of comments to help you figure things out if you do decide to finish the code.

Finish the code myself? You're funny. I'll wait. Thanks for all the hard work!

nudge nudge on the .pdf screens for Android 1.5. Still not working, the majority of my apps need it. Wish I wasn't a java tard!

Thanks for nudging back, WolfTimJ. During our development of v1.5 for Android we realized that the current v1.5 platform wouldn't suit our longterm needs (and ultimately yours as well) and that we needed to take a slightly different approach towards development and our products. Since then we have released the beta of buzztouch server and the plugin architecture. This varies slightly from the screens approach of v1.5, but does mean that our development efforts are now aimed at buzztouch server and plugins. So we are working on the v1.5 screens, but in the plugin format mentioned above. It will take slightly longer to release everything, but will allow faster development in the future, which benefits everyone. In the semi-near future you can expect to see a website overhaul, a new forum, the plugin format matching both on the website and on the downloadable buzztouch server, and a big ol' bag of training videos and other goodies to help you guys in your development efforts. The downside is that if you want to utilize the (now) older v1.5 Android format, you'll need to start learning some Java.

K. I have BT Server installed already, it would just save me a lot of time to use 1.5 on this one project. Thanks anyway.

Parker, Wasn't Android PDF screens working in 1.4? Could you please point me in the right direction to add this functionality to 1.5 (whether it's another forum post you've seen, blog post, etc). Alternatively, if converting my 1.5 app to 2.0 will give me this functionality, I would be open to that as well. Your advice is much appreciated. My iOS version is ready to be submitted to Apple tomorrow and I'd like Android to not be far behind. Cross-platform ftw -Nick
