Command to get md5 for windows 7

I've hit the brick wall that many others seem to have hit. Is the command to get the md5 fingerprint for the debug key different for windows 7? Or, is it not recognizing the command because the file path is wrong? I haven't used a command prompt since the apple 2e. Thanks

I also downloaded a md5 fingerprint tool in attempt to bypass using command line. This generated a md5 but, apparently not what I needed because map is still not showing.

If you are using the keytool command try adding the option -v. I was only getting the SAH1 code, and by adding this I also received the MD5.

Where does this need to be added? Now I think I'm on the right track but it keeps coming back as access denied. Here is the command line: $keytool-list-alias androiddebugkey\-keystore<c:\users\jimmy\.android\debug.keystore>\-storepass android -keypass android any guesses as to why access is denied or, if i'm even on the right Track?

once i made it thru the commands to get the code, I too got the SAH1 code. I used the -v at the end of the command and was able to get the MD5. so, thanks for that! New issue, after I got the MD5 and generated the API inserted into strings file, eclipse showed a error when I tried to launch. Null pointer exception. I don't know how changing the value of API would cause this.
