Introducing : Buzztouch Users Group Wiki (BTUGwiki)!

Hi, My name is Mark, and you see me here in the forum as GoNorthWest. I am a huge, huge fan of Buzztouch, and have asked many a question in the forum that have been answered by not only the people behind BT (David, Parker, others), but by the extremely cool people that spend their time helping out others. I've spent some time of my own trying to help out others with the things I have learned, but I've felt like I wanted to do more. Enter the BTUGwiki --> http://www.btugwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page Probably about a month ago I approached the Buzztouch team about putting together a wiki as a place where we could write down those procedures that are constantly referenced in the forums. There is a never ending stream of questions about things like code signing, location maps, compiling binaries, getting started, etc, and it seemed to me that we spent a lot of time repeating the same steps. So, I wanted to create a place where we could document the basics, and then could reference those documents in the forum. Not only would that save us some typing time, but it would free up the forums for asking questions to some of less routine problems. The guys at BT thought this was a good idea, and now it's ready! So, if you have some procedures or step-by-step instructions that you think would be good to document, please head over to http://www.btugwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page, create an account (not required, but I would love it if you did!), and write down what you know. I've never run a wiki before, so there are bound to be some bugs, and I'll constantly be working to improve the site. Please let me know if you run into any problems, and I'll address them as soon as possible. One last thing - I thought about waiting until after the Buzztouch Server 2.0 release on 11/1/11 to announce the wiki, but decided that having the wiki in place prior to that might be a good idea, so that people could write up their lessons learned on BT Server 2.0 as they come up. I'm looking forward to seeing what people write up about it! So, there you have it. Please let me know what you think, and don't be shy about contributing to the wiki. It only works if people take the time to contribute! Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark, I am working on my first wiki and I need to ask if you enabled the file upload feature of Mediawiki. Update: I placed the first tutorial on our BTUGwiki. I hope it will help somebody. I know that after long searches, it helped me. Link here: http://www.btugwiki.com/index.php/Google_maps_routes Thanks, Vali

I get the following message when trying to upload a small JPG file. The upload directory (public) is not writable by the webserver.

Hi Mark, It seems that our wiki was spammed. All the links go to the same content: Results 1 - 15 of 143 New Albany Local Business Directory; Search Perfume in New Albany, INMatches 1 - 30 of 262 Dolce Gabbana Perfume - 262 results like the Dolce & Gabbana.................. Any chance at getting back the info?

Hi @Moofa, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I checked out the site, and a couple of the posts had indeed been spammed. I was able to roll the posts back to their original information, and have added a feature where edits cannot be made without a verified email address. I'll look into tightening down the site a bit more as well. Thanks! Mark
