Not buzztouch related, but do you PERSONALLY prefer iPhone or Android?

I hope that this topic can stay on the forum, especially with it not being Buzztouch related. I am on T-Mobile, and am about 2 weeks from the end of my contract. I've had an unloced/jailbroken iPhone 3G for about a year, and really liked it, except for the fact that it's sluggish and can't use things like 3G or a lot of apps (GPS for example) because it's unlocked. We're considering changing to Verizon and the iPhone 4S, which is SWEET, but I'm also looking at the Samsung Galaxy 2 - larger screen, cool features, and other things. My daughter has an iPod that I can test my IOS apps on, so that will be no problem. I am just wondering if I will regret going from iPhone to Android, later on. So, if possible, can this topic stay up, and y'all chime in on whether you prefer/have for your own personal use, an iPhone or Android, any why you prefer that one? I figure this forum will be a GREAT resource, as compared to some others where there is a bias one way or the other.

I have an Android phone, Android Tablet(Xoom), IPAD2, Ipod Touch and MAC Pro. All thanks to work for the most part.... Overall I prefer the Android(s) which are rooted over the Apple devices(jailbroken). I think the Apple devcices are a more polished OS and a touch more stable. I don't have an IPhone at the moment so I can't say about the phone functionality. But, as far as scalability and capabilities, the Androids I find more flexible. The Applications feel just about the same on each device. The apple battery life I think is better than the Androids overall. So I would still stick to the Android if I had a choice.

I had an early iphone and top of the range ipod touch back in the day but they were never more than toys. I tried out an HTC Wildfire about 16 months ago, bought it the same day, and even though it's only a base model, as far as I'm concerned I'm only buying Android phones from now on. To me, the android os is so much more tactile, flexible and intuitive than apple, and only limited by developer imagination rather than corporate decisions. If I had the option, I'd get a Samsung Galaxy S2 right now!

Hey there I currently own iPhone 4 and a HTC G2. I have had 4 iPhones previously and 3 other Androids: G1, Vibrant and Samsung Captivate. My Friend has a Galaxy S2 but it is nowhere close to the iPhone 4. I think that the way the interface works on the Android phones that I had the chance to play with, they are far behind the iPhone's. I prefer the iPhone over any other Phone M.

Thanks for your responses!! I think the one thing I really like about Android is that they have bigger screens. I did some reading about the iPhone 5, which will reportedly be released some time next year, and from what I've seen, they will be approximately the same size as the 4 and 4S, with a teardrop design. I don't really care about the teardrop thing that is supposedly so great, basically tapering off the back to make it thinner at one end. One of the things that used to be a deciding factor was availability of apps, but now Android has just as many high quality apps as the iPhone. Another big concern to me is battery life, since I use it a lot, and also being able to use the device as a wifi hotspot. I think that on the Verizon network, you can use the iPhone as a hotspot without jailbreaking it, but as I understand it, all Androids have the capability to do that. I did buy a little Optimus T just to check out, and I really am enjoying it. I wish it had a bigger screen, and I wish it was easier to get podcasts, but I really like that one. I actually picked it up from a guy who just needed to get rid of it on Craigslist for $30, and that was a great find for me. I guess that I don't want to have a phone for 2 years that I would constantly be comparing to the iPhone 4S to see if it's as good as the iPhone.
