Can buzztouch create location based apps?

I am trying to create an app for my business and I want to have a feature where my customers can track their product in real time, is this possible to do through buzztouch or is that very advanced?

Hi LenZerz, That would be on the advanced side of things, but is possible using buzztouch. I'm guessing the tricky part on your end would be getting your product to give realtime updates to a backend so the app would have something to access.

thanks Parker, well the product will always be with an employee so my thought is to have the employee notify the app so the customer can check the app to see whats happening, in other words I want the app to be able to track the location of the products via the handlers mobile phone.

Ok. So one idea is that you could have a Custom HTML Screen with a submittable form on it, that when submitted sends things like a package identification number and the devices latitude and longitude to a database. When your customer accesses a webpage or app and then enters their package identification number, the database is queried for all of the lat and lon info for that package and the result is returned.

what about say the way Google maps finds you by your phone signal, can it work the same way, say the customer knows which handler is carrying their product, the customer can click on that handler and see the location of their product in real time.

For the method I briefly outlined you would be using buzztouch, a database you control, and probably some .php files to communicate between the two. To track a device location similar to how a users device displays in Google maps, you would have to explore the Google API, but it seems like a very reasonable request. After that it would probably at the very least save you some time to implement that screen via buzztouch.
