Comparing - compiling for iPhone vs Android

I FINALLY got all the bugs worked out of compiling for the iPhone with XCode. It was a pain in the neck and a bit frustrating, but felt really, really really gratifying once I saw the end result and now see my test app on my iPhone. I can't wait to submit it for approval to Apple, which will be another learning curve for me (anybody want to give me the bottom line of how to do that?) :) So, my next step will be to download the source code and build for the Android. I don't have a clue what to expect, and would like to ask you good folks. How would you compare compiling for the iPhone is vs compiling for the Android? I know the submittal process is SO much easier for Android, so that part will be awesome, but I'm just a tad nervous about shifting gears pretty soon. Thank you!

As Steve Jobs said, 'Almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.' Don't be nervous, jump in and try. You are essentially doing the same thing just different nomenclature. There are a ton of posts and tutorials out there on the greater interwebs, and on here, showing and explaining how to do it. If you haven't already done it have a look at the video tutorial David threw up about building the 'Hello World' app in Eclipse, that'll set you on the right path. Good luck!

Submitting to Apple, in short, sucks. Here's a quick tip: - You cannot delete AppIDs. Aside from the one xcode may automatically create, it's probably a good idea to only make one. If you don't though, it's not the end of the world, just can be a bit confusing. Yes, an overload of unfamiliar terms like provisioning profiles, AppIDs, and two different types of certificates for everything can make the process confusing. It took 2 weeks of my spare time to get everything right. Once you get xcode to build the app without errors, you'll need to use application loader to upload the app to Apple. At this step, application loader can give you more errors (like codesigning), but luckily these can be solved using Google (most of the solutions point to stackoverflow forum posts).
