Does v1.5 only simulate on macs?

Hi- I am a newcomer using a windows 7 computer. I am trying to use the new 1.5 as I want to be able to add images to my menu and take advantage of the instructional videos, which are for v1.5. My confusion arises from the fact that they keep talking about xcode and since I am on a Windows computer I can't download that. Is there a way to use the android eclipse to preview my application or is this for macs only? I apologize if this is been addressed before but I couldn't find it in the q and a or forums search.

Well, if you want to create apps for iphone or iPad, then you need a mac and xcode. However, if you want to develop apps for Android, then you can download Eclipse for windows or Mac.

And you want to avoid running Mac OS X in a virtual machine on Windows, as Apole doesn't like that. And, if you decide to buy a Mac, make sure you get an Intel-based one. Last point - you can do both iOS and Android dev on a Mac, but only Android dev on a Windows box.
