Can a Java Script read the user name from the device?

I am currently developing an app for iPhone/iPad. It is just very simple to test using this site and to become better with apps. Eventually this will be released as a free app if it ever works. I would like it to read Hi <username> when the app starts. Is this even possible or is it considered poor programming etiquette to dig into such info on a mobile device? I hope there is something simple like the current date script generated here on this site: function myCoolDate(){ var myDate = new Date(); return myDate.toUTCString(); iOS using my Mac, buzztouch 1.5 and still in development

Hi Joe, The only thing I could find through google was: http://iphonedevelopertips.com/core-services/getting-the-iphone-user-name.html It goes the route of objective-c so you could add that to your source code somewhere and see if you can wire it all together to work for you?
