Android Market Image...using app icon instead of another image

Hello everyone, I could use somke help with 2 things: 1. We upload our app icons as jpg files in Buzztouch. This causes my app icon to be recreated as a .png file, but the png file has a solid white background. I take it the only way to get rid of this icon with the white background is to replace the convterted png with one that I have that I know the background is transparent? 2. If you do a search for mypc solutions on android market using your mobile device and click on the app, you will see that the image to the left of the Free button is my icon image. I want another image there instead of my icon (everyone else has a rectangular image). Where do I upload the image that fits the rectangle? Thank you.

Hi MyPC, 1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought .jpg files didn't support transparencies? Either way you, I think you can just swap out the old icons in your xcode project with new ones with the same names and file dimensions (57x57, 72,72, 114x114 etc). 2. From this webpage it looks like the file is taken from your upload: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android%20Market/thread?tid=6aeb33c85be59142&hl=en I'm thinking a re-submit with new artwork in the correct folders will fix it for you.

The solution to my problem was not very easy to figure out, but I did it so that must mean there was some simplicity involved. To solve this issue, I had to upload a 180wx120h .png image in on the Android Market, specifically the Promotional Graphic option (log into www.market.android.com/publish to edit your app) Be aware that after submission of this image it may take up to 2 days for the changes to take effect on the Android Market for mobile devices. Also, if you upload a png with transparency then the transparent part will show up as black as the image placeholder has a black background. Hope this helps
