Newstand for iOS 5 seems exciting for sure. I've not heard of anyone compiling for this special type of iOS app. Generally speaking, the only difference between a 'regular' iOS app and a Newsptand app is how you compile it and how you offer it for sale. In other words, Apple has divided this into different types of apps. Objective - C is all the same. Same kind of code, different purpose. The project source-code you download from your control panel is setup to compile as a regular iOS app, Newstand didn't exist yet ;-). But, the source-code and concept behind it should be the same. This means you should be able to make some adjustments to the Build Settings (not sure what they are yet, havn't done it) and compile for newstand. Your buzztouch control panel helps you organize content and assemble things in tons of ways. For lots of folks this serves as a starting point and not the total solution. This is why we give you the project source-code, we want you to be free to compile, submit, sell, do whatever you want. This is differnet than doing it for you and charging a fee like lots of other online services promise to do. If we get enough interest in Newstand we'll put together a download for that platform so you won't have to make any adjustments before compling. I can't imagine this happening any time soon?

Thx David for the quick response! I'm currently working to figure out how to tweak the code for the newsstand, just trying to figure out the dynamic icons (cool to see a shape other than square). The larger piece will be how to compile the push updates. Keep this in mind as you look for ways to update your program in the future, thank you for your program it has been very helpful to my self teaching app development.

Push updates are a huge thing and very helpful in tons of situations. There are lots of folks that have figured out how to do this in their downloaded project but it's for sure a nerdy thing! Here's our soon-to-be-released solution (keep in mind that we cater to folks that want to do things themselves): buzztouch Server: This is a web-app you download from your buzztouch contorl panel that goes on your website or backend. Like Word-Press, you download it, install it, then manage it on your end. The buzztouch Server download is a full-featured web-app (control panel) with all the features you see on buzztouch.com. The idea is that you use that centralized place to manage all your apps. And, you use that centralized control panel to enter and send push notifcations. There are other exciting features in this download that are NOT available on buzztouch.com. The code-base for buzztouch Server is solid and we've tested it and deployed it for lots of enterprise clients. We think a downloadable, self-server version will solve lots of problems for lots of folks. The release date is unknown and unpublished. We are working hard to get buzztouch v1.5 for Android finished and after that we'll get the buzztouch Server download ready. Cheers in Orlando.

UrbanAirship.com offers a solution that can be incorporated into a BuzzTouch-created app. Read more about it here: http://urbanairship.com/blog/2011/08/25/new-ios5-library-support-for-newsstand-auto-renewables/
