IOS 1.5: Questions about real estate app

Hi all; I am building a real estate app in iOs. The app will mainly feature luxury condominiums and all the information will be stored either in BT or an existing web site. I have 2 questions: 1)When a user clicks on Available Properties, this will link to a mls listing available on a web site [wordpress with a mobile plugin]. could linking to an external web page potentially compromise the approval at the App store? 2)Is it possible to implement Google Street View ? Thanks in advance M.

From the App store rejection posts that people have put in this forum, doing anything that could simply be done with a website appears to be ground for rejection. They don't tend to like links to external web pages (web site pages). You could implement Google Street View, I think, if you create a custom HTML page that calls a particular set of lat/long coordinates using the Google API in such a way that it invokes Street View. I was just looking the API yesterday, and it appears that is possible. To increase your chances of approval, you might want to consider a location map that maps the different properties, and then gives users driving directions to them using native apps. That takes advantage of the iPhone capabilities, and is more likely to win approval. Mark

Thanks GoNorthWest for your feedback. I will need to figure out a way to bring those listings into the app. Like someone pointed out in a different post, it is possible to do it. Regarding the maps, thank you. I will probably stick to the map screen available here. Thanks again M.

If the listings are in a database, and you are able to run a script against that database, then you can export the info in JSON format, and use that to populate your app. There are a few examples of it in the Buzztouch documentation. It would be a relatively simply mySQL query I think. Mark

Well actually these are all pulled from the MLS, so I don't think it is possible but i will look again.

Hi Stoneypointe, Were you able to implement this function in the end? I am trying to do something similar. Thanks, K.
