Nice one. Good info, good post! Amazon are trying to take over. Some good discussions on here and on the interwebs about Amazon. Of course you want to be available to as many users as possible and Amazon are too big to be ignored but are they really on the side of the developer? OK, who is on the side of the app developer, I know but I still believe Amazon employ some strange tactics. For instance, their new tablet blocks the Android Market Place while running, eh Android. hmm. Feature your paid app for free for a day and it will kill any revenue you will ever get. Don't get me wrong though, I often have Amazon envelopes in my mail box but do I trust them at the moment to build tablets and sell apps?

I have no problem placing my app on Amazon. It's good advertisement for our film festival. Our app is free as well. But I will also put on the android market in the next few days. Think it's good to get my feet wet with free apps first before charging. Does anyone know if we have access to the people who download our apps? Would be cool to be able to reach out to them with new apps.

@LoglineEngine, You could include a screen that force refreshes that is a designated info screen to update users on new apps or promotions...I use push notifications for this purpose, lots of great info on the forum about push notifications and messages :)
