Sizing issues with 1.5 iOS Header image --> Android

Just starting to mess with Android 1.5. After sorting out HTML docs, images and icons, all looks good, except for Header Images. They seem to be squished! <img src=http://smallfrywebworks/img/5554.png> And help would be appreciated! Regards, Andy

Hi andydahl, So I looked at the image linked. Is it squished, or just hiding under the nav bar and menu list If it's just hiding, I'm not entirely sure where the android menu list is at in development, but if all is functioning well then go to that screens 'Advanced properties' > 'Header Image Layout' and adjust the 'Image Top Position' to lower the image. Then under 'Menu List Row Height, Font Size' adjust 'List Header Height' to move the menu list below the header. But then again, i'm not entirely sure if that screen is even fully finished. Check out the README.txt file in your project download folder for information on opening the correct file within eclipse for more specific information about that screen type. I know that Phase 2 has NOT been released yet, and that phase deals with screen types and functionality.

Scary Halloween - awesome. @andydahl: The image you posted does look a little funky. And, like Parker mentioned, it does also look like it's sliding up under the top nav bar. WIth your permission, I'd like to download your project and see what I can figure. BT_screen_menuList.m should be 100% complete and working and honoring the control panel settings. Do this: a) Post the name of the app you're working with, exactly as it appears in your control panel. b) Post the header image you're using online somewhere so I can download it (or email it to info 'at' buzztouch dot com). Ignore this step if it's coming from a URL in the app. c) Post a short note that: 'It's OK for buzztouch to download my project for testing' I have access to all the projects but need your permission before I can get yours. I'll figure this out and re-post ;-)

Thought I'd update this thread with some data. I rebuilt my app specifically for Android v1.5 over the weekend to try to solve the header image issue (it was cut off or over-lapped when viewed in the simulator). The header image is 320x135, but in order for it to look right in Eclipse, I had to set the Header Image Layout to 320x200. Definitely strange. Other than that, it worked great! Had to figure out the image path for several images in my HTML docs, but no big deal. When the app deployed to the store today (Happy Halloween 2011), none of the banner images or background images were working. The weird part is that the icons all worked fine, but images didn't. Since I'm really over my head, I pulled the app and went back to the old version (Halloween 2011). If you guys want, please feel free to download my projects for testing. I’d like to figure out if this is a bug in Android 1.5 or simply user error. If you need my images, I’m happy to send them over, as they are mostly embeded. Any help would be appreciated.

No luck yet. I'll try to get back on this when I get back to office tomorrow (it's 2:30 AM here.) I have narrowed it down to a density issue. Short story..Android uses different density for differnet screens and this affects the way images are scaled. Good catch, this needed to be found!

Re-fetch the project, looks like the header-image sizing is worked out and added to the download server. I did some tests and tinkered with the height / width (resolution) settings for tons of images...seems good. Note: Were planning to change the header image sizing settings from you entering a number for width / height to a scale type. We hope to use Full Width, Center, Crop, etc. This way you can use the same image for iOS and Android and not have to worry about the sizes looking different in different device sizes. Hope this makes sense. Today, tinker with the sizes, they are honored.

David - Thanks for your help, but I'm still experiencing the issue with one of my projects (Villa Grove Football 2011). The header image (305x180) is still being cut-off/overlapped with the newest version, downloaded today. If you need anything else, I'm happy to help! Your work is very much appreciated! Thanks!
