What is the cheapest Mac I could get to run XCode?

Oh my gosh, I am STOKED that I have started using buzztouch! This software is simply AMAZING!! WOW!! And the power of version 1.5 - this is simply amazing!!! I'm just salivating over this with ideas, but I don't want to keep going to oDesk to get someone to compile apps - I want to do this for myself. My Mac PowerBook G4 has PowerPC and not intel, so I can't use XCode on it. I've been looking on eBay and Craigslist for a lower end Mac to start out with, and need some help. It would be great if I could find a laptop, but maybe a Mac Mini is my best bet? Any suggestions?? buzztouch FREAKING ROCKS!!!!

I spent $600 on a Mac mini from best buy. Works perfectr. And what even better is its a no brainer to install eclipse for Android development. Plus, its so small I can maneuver it between my office and home by just throwing it in my laptop bag.

Cool - thanks for the suggestions!! Just out of curiosity, how do you use it at work? Do you have an adapter for your monitor and keyboard or something?

I was able to pick up a single proc Mac Mini on Craigslist for $200...included monitor, mouse and keyboard! Do some shopping around, but make sure to get an Intel version, and not PowerPC, or it won't work. Mark

Simply plug a windows keyboard and mouse to it. It will know you have and set input as windows based keyboard. Comes with a HDMI to DVI cable. Great system.

I've been lucky on craigslist finding deals on OSX computers. 1. Older style Mac Mini with Care2Duo 2GHz for ~$275 2. Plasticy MacBook C2D 2.2GHz and 3GB Ram in good shape for $275 3. MacBook Pro with broken screen and keyboard (I have it setup stationary with keyboard, mouse and monitor - so its basically a mac mini) $250 So there's proof and hope that you can get a decent dev setup for under $300

Well, I broke down and got a Mac mini. I got it at a pretty good price from a guy on Craigslist. I could have gotten a cheaper one, but it only had 512MB of ram and a 60Gig hard drive. Not enough for me. ONE PROBLEM though - I can't hook it up yet!! I have a flatscreeen VGA monitor, and have to get some kind of mini VGA adapter. Dangit!! You'd think I would have thought of that!! I will have to go to Best Buy tomorrow before I can use it. :( But, on the good side, I'll be ready to compile my own iPhone apps in XCode now! Any advice on that adapter?

I'm not sure about your local Best Buy, but mine is clearancing out all the Rocketfish brand mac video adapters (displayport, mini displayport, DVI, etc). They are all about $4-$5 each, which is worth it. Otherwise, the apple brand is a little better quality if that's your only option.
