RSS Reader Question

Is the RSS reader in 1.5 supposed to go to the website or can it also display in a mobile friendly view? So far the RSS reader for me is just a list and then goes to my website. I was hoping it would load the article in a mobile friendly manner. Is there a way for me to do this?

This doesn't naturally happen. You'll have to mobilize it somewhere. What is your website running on?

Check your template settings for a mobile option. Not certain if Google has rolled that option out to everyone yet or not.

there is a mobile template on blogger. Go to settings of your blog. Then click Email & Mobile option and you would see Yes. Show mobile template on mobile devices. No. Show desktop template on mobile devices. Click yes and you should see a mobile template on mobile devices. Hope this helps. This option is there in older blogger interface.

I kind of wish there was a native option rather than loading a website. I'm sure there is I just don't know how to do it.

I understand your question @mitchellapps. I was looking for the same feature. You want your rss content to show on a native view not a web view, right? I have posted about this before but got no answer at all. Here's what I've found out so far: 1. Apparently you can create/hack a plugin tab into a BT app (haven't tried it yet), meaning that you could insert other frameworks/widgets/snippet/code/whatever into your regular BT app. 2. Supposing that the above is true, you could customize MWaterfall feed parser to achieve the desired result. If you want to use images with your feed take a look at Akosma async-uitableview. I will eventually try doing this, but I dont thave the time right now. Let me know if you tried something and if you need any further help.

@ tonycelestino: Never got an answer? Hmm, troubling. Anyway...here's the thing. The list of RSS items is a native UITableView showing all the items...so far so good. But, like you mention, the stores load in a UIWebView. This is instentional. There isn't anyway to load arbitrary content into anything else, RSS items almost always load content that is HTML. The only iOS 'widget' capable of displaying RSS is the UIWebView the app uses now. So, the concept of showing data 'natively' is a bit missleading. The UIWebView is native. However, I do understand how some content, listed in an RSS items list may not be HTML content. In this case it would be interesting to try to load it in something OTHER than a UIWebView. What that is depends on the nature of the data. Hope this helps.
