New to BT, have a question about my first project

Hey guys, I just have a quick question for you about my first project. I did some searching but the only posts I could find weren't exactly what I was looking for. Anyway, I am going to be purchasing a database that comes in any of these formats: CSV, Excel, MySQL, MS Access. The database is just over 16,000 values. At risk of giving out my ideas online, I'm going to be vague here. Let's pretend the database is for food recipes (it isn't) and one of the columns is for the ingredients you need (the names, not the amounts of each). I want my users to be able to enter in the ingredients they have in their kitchen by either typing in a search or picking them manually off the list of possible ingredients from the database. Once they have entered in all the ingredients they have, they click something that returns the recipes they can make with what they have and can click the result to effectively see all values contained in the database for that particular recipe (name, amounts of ingredients, directions, etc). I'd like it to also return recipes they don't have all the ingredients for and be able to sort the results based on things such as name, ratio of owned vs. required ingredients, etc. Is this possible with Buzztouch? Thanks ahead of time, can't wait to finish my first app!

Forgot to add, I'd like to do as much of this locally on the phone as possible. I'd rather not require my users to have an active internet connection (3G, 4G, or wifi). Would any of the db formats be better suited for this, or is it more personal preference?
