Im making an app for my website, and did everything on here, Went to Xcode, I couldnt find some of the stuff to push. Found a single clean thats it. I got the latest version so the readme.txt memo maybe outdated I only see one drop down menu but its not what the guide say it is for. I was wondering if IM wrong if so what do I do.. Im no coder, Wish I was but dont know how to get there. Can anyone help me? I pressed clean, build and run and others that I could find. App didnt come together. Thanks so much. Hi Geoff, What version of Xcode are you using? And when you say App didn't come together, what exact errors are you getting? Is it a certificate issue? Or some other compile issue? And...are you a member of the Apple Development program? Because you'll need that in order to make any of this work. It's $99/year. Mark

Im using xcode 4. I wasnt getting any error messages, when I both tested and ran it I simply got a blank iPhone mockup. I know I probably didnt do something right but thats what came up

And you made sure the target destination is iPhone version whatever? And did you give it all time to load? Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the simulator to load the application. Patience is key.

@ ragnorak1982: 'I did everything on this site' made me laugh. Funny. It can be frustrating sometimes to take on new projects, make software, install it on phones, etc, etc. But, given a little time and enthusiasm I'm sure you'll figure it out and I'm also sure you'll be glad you did. It's tough to imagine what you're running into without knowing more about your project. Start by making the simplest app you can and get something to run in your simulator. Build from there.

David, No actually it isnt funny, its rather arrogent to think everyone on here is a developer. If they were, there wouldnt be a forum, would there? My app was THE most basic app you could make. It just had contact info, a description, my icon an image and 2 other simple things. No games or fortune 500 stuff. Nothing you see on iTunes. I just wanted something simple for friends, family and anyone else who I might want to know about my website have an app for contacting and more information. Do I want it to go to something bigger yes. I need to, to attract business. Its was the most basic. Gonorth I did do that and I waited until everything went successful. I left the house to go to the store came back with everything on. Nothing budged. I may not have pressed specific button before I ran. I dont know. The readme doc must be outdated because nothing in the step by step matched up with xcode4

@ragnorak1982 - Kinda of rude, don't you think? The beauty of BuzzTouch is that it allows non-developers to build and distribute apps. I'm sure the overwhelming number of people using BuzzTouch are not developers. I'm certainly not. I'm a designer, but I have a healthy enthusiasm and I'm willing to read, learn and help. The best thing you can do is go through the videos. They're a great starting point. Clearly, the readme file isn't meant to be a complete step-by-step walk through. It's a summarized getting started point. If you have xcode installed properly on your computer you literally should be able to double click the XXX.xcodeproj file to load it into xcode, select an emulater from the drop down, then press the 'Product->Run' menu item and your app should compile and run in an emulator. If it doesn't, you probably don't have xcode set up correctly. BT is a great community, and people here are willing to help out. But snide comments saying the BT guys are arrogant and believe everyone is a developer won't get you anywhere fast.

Totally agree with @MGoBlue, and am glad he posted a reply first, because I was prepared with something much longer. Like he says, the beauty of BT is that you don't have to write a single line of code. You design your app, download it, load it in Xcode, and see what you've produced. That's pretty awesome. But it does assume that you've followed the rules outlined by Apple in how to run Xcode. The fact that your app isn't showing means something is amiss, and that something is being logged somewhere. In order to debug a problem - and I do that for a living - you have to provide step-by-step details of what you did, and what you see. Otherwise, since we're not on your computer, we can only guess. If you post your project somewhere like a public folder on DropBox and send me a link, I'll see if I can compile it and what the issue might be. Mark

ok thats great! Ill follow that. I just downloaded xcode from the app store so I dont know. Im sorry for the remark Im not use to this. I see many files and I just went to the readme. Is was alot. So Im sorry for the remark. Ive been on websites like this and rude comments are thrown and sometimes its expected to fight back. I took it as rude only assuming from what I get on other sites Im sorry for the remark david. Ill start this again from what everybody has told me.

Good luck. It's a bit complicated, but the videos really do help. The other that helps is to search the forum. I know the BT guys plan to upgrade the forum to improve search capabilities, but you can still find answers a lot of times by searching the forum. One last thing. When you are finally ready to distribute your app, you will need to join the apple developer program ($99/yr). just an FYI. Not everyone realizes that.

@ragnorak also make sure your app has a certain amount of functionality if developing for iPhone...it sounds like you are just trying to make an app with your contact and links to your website, but apple will be looking for more so maybe include a quiz or think of some other things to add...we are all here to help :)
