ANDROID V1.5 design doubts

I chose the Home Screen (non-tabbed layout), with a Menu (list), so I can change of layout and combine my menu (list) with tabbed layout and put some labels at the bottom?, or can I combine tabbed layout with Menu (buttons)? Its a little confusing, but Thank you.

Hi, I have a tabbed layout with a Menu (button) screen associated with one of my tabs in my iPhone app. One of my other tabs has the standard Menu (List) as well. So, you can do both with a tabbed layout! That's one of the beautiful design points with a tabbed layout. I also noticed that it transfers nicely to Android as well...the tabs are there as expected. Mark

Each tab requires a label to identify it to the user. You'll see that when you go to configure the tabbed layout. So, in short, each tab is linked to a particular screen, which can be of any type. Each tab has a label that the user sees, and generally an icon as well. All of this is configured when you select the tabbed layout in the Control Panel. Just experiment and you'll see what I mean!

Here's one of my iPhone apps that has a tabbed layout : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jesus-says/id458452418?ls=1&mt=8 And here's what it looked like last night around midnight when I compiled it with the recently released Android code : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4993711/android/JesusSays_for_Android.png I didn't change anything in my control panel...just downloaded the Android code and compiled!

As I see in both apps, you are using tabs with labels, but not square buttons..

OK, I must be misunderstanding what you're asking for. Here's an iPhone app I did with tabs and buttons : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ovfps/id463181339?mt=8 Currently, with the Android v1.5 code from BT, there is no button support. So, this app won't work like this in Android...but that should be coming soon. If you are wanting to use square buttons for the tabs, I'm not sure you can do that. I think the tabs are indicated by icons that you choose, as well as the labels.
