Application Not installed on Samsung Galaxy SII

.I compiled the applications using Eclipse and created .apk file. But when I transferred the .apk file to phone and try to install the same it is giving only one message that application not installed. Can anyone help me on the same. On the same phone I was able to install application created by app inventor.

Hi @HelloWorld, I'm assuming that you have either a debugkeystore or releasekeystore applied? And, how are you trying to load the application? I did a test where I created the APK file, then put it in DropBox and created a public link. Then I created a QR code for that link, had somebody with an Android device scan it, and they were able to install the application from that link. I think bringing up the link in a browser would work as well. Might want to give that method a try! Mark

Thanks for your reply. It was a issue due to releasekeystore. Now I am able to install..

Excellent! Glad you got it resolved! Just out of curiosity...what method do you use to do the install?

I’m a first-timer, so thank you in advance for your patience. My app, iExplorePAtrails, runs well on the emulator Google API 1.6 Platform API Level 4, using Eclipse. An initial test on a device was positive so I decided to submit it to the Amazon App Store. Amazon replied, “Your recent submission is pending due to the following reason(s): If the user attempts to install the application, the following message is displayed 'Application not installed'. Note: This occurs on the Samsung Vibrant 2.2, Motorola Droid 2.2, LG Optimus T 2.2, Galaxy Tablet 2.2, HTC Incredible 2 2.3 and Motorola Xoom 3.2.1 …the application will appear to install but then display the message 'Application not installed' --- Usually this occurs when the APK file has been altered after it has been signed, please try re-uploading signed APK unaltered.” There was no alteration that I’m aware of, and if there was, I wouldn’t know how to “unalter” it. Any tips? Do I need to declare in the manifest which screen sizes to support with <supports-screens>? Thanks. -Kent
