Map GeoCode Question iOS

I have done geocodes before on a small scale, but let's say I want my app to show all car dealerships in the USA and show them realative to the users locations. Is this a manual process of collectiong the car dealership addresses? I can't wrap my head around this. Thanks!!

The map screen is generated with JSON data. However you supply that data is up to you. Do you want to individually enter locations into the control panel? Do you already have a properly formatted JSON file with location items in it? Do you have a ,php file that can query a database and create a JSON file? Any of these options would work.

Thanks, I don't have any of the data, but I was hoping there was a way to link into the google maps API and call the data they have on their maps. Essentially I would like to list all store types, lets pic McDonalds in the USA. I think it would be crazy for me to seek out all of those addresses and them into a format like you mentioned. I hope this is coming across clearly.

I'm still stuggling on this issue. I have 300+ locations in NJ I would like to map along with even more for ever other state in the USA. Do I need to add each one by hand in the JSON txt file or is there a way to call the existing data in google maps? Thanks for the help!
