trying to dial from a web page

So I have an online application of sorts that lets people log in and search for phone numbers and email address. I tried to use the URL page and pasted my URL into it. The page shows up fine. the problem is, when I hit the phone number it says: web page not available The Web page at tel:8189999999 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address Here's the kicker...When I go straight to the URL from my browser, everything seems to work, and the telephone number is sent to the dialer when I click it. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Do I need to do it through the app itself (ie fix the source code) or does it have to do with the webpage? Thanks in advance! Mike

I tried that and it didn't seem to work as this is for iphone and not android, which is the first app we are trying to get to work. Any other suggestions? here is a link to the screenshot we get, hopefully it will help... https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-YK7eeQlQ0yU/Tmo-9_nLcXI/AAAAAAAAADU/U5lJWo1L9VY/s512/error.JPG

Hmmm, that's funny. Well I'll have to look into this further. In the meantime try creating a Custom HTML page and embedding it in your device. Use you phone link in that HTML file and test to see if it works. Get back to me after you test that and I'll look for another solution as I have the time.
