Step to app submission with xcode - work in progress

I am inexperienced in xcode and programming in general and I am about to submit app for 3rd time to iconnect and wanted to ensure error free. My error was I think due to not copying latest config file from core properties to xcode before archiving causing a “no screens error”. This confused me as it worked well on device and simulator. Taking on board David from BT concerns on submitting apps that may I thought I would collate and go through the forums tips and put it on the forum as steps for other users. I ask if any of the more experienced users could check the steps so they can be amended and followed before I and other users submit our apps. So here Goes.... 1 In Buzztouch once app is finished ensure a) Put all images for app in local folder BT_images Folder b) Put all text, PDF’s into the BT_docs Folder 2) Ensure correct Config File a)In core properties click link for configuration data b)Copy data into BT_Config.txt file c)Copy file into Xcode 3) Copy all app related files (images, docs etc files over to xcode) 4) In Xcode check in Build Configuration the following in Both Project & Target a)Codesigning Identity is set to Iphone Distribution b) Target device is set to correct device iphone or ipad or both 5) In Xcode clean all targets ( not sure what it does - does it remove all old references to files on device and in project) 6) Set Active Configuration to release 7) Run Build and Archive on app in targets 8)Go to organizer window and under archived application select app and click the submit button Above is the process I have derived so far I would really appreciate any further steps or if I have missed or got any stages incorrect PS love to test my app with fellow BT user before submitting and happy to reciprocate the service in something like testflight

Looks like you have it ;-) The best way to ensure things are good is the last statement - testing. If you can get some testers, it really does make a big difference. It takes some patience to get it 'right' without any testers and feedback is almost always useful. The biggest challenge for most folks the idea of where the data comes from. Getting your head around that concept saves tons of headaches. The good news is that Apple's compile / submit process is fairly bulletproof and the SDK works real hard at not allowing you to submit an app that has not been compiled properley with the correct profile, etc. This means your attention should be on the functions of your app and that they all work as planned. Good post.

I am getting ready to submit my first iOS BT app. I have a few questions. Where is the config file? And I am not sure how to do steps 4-8. Is there any youtube videos or tutorials to help out with this process?

If you go into the folder of the BT app you have downloaded and go into BT_config folderyou will find a file called BT_config.txt this is the config file. I hope this helps RacinJason. Ps bike looks cool but after watching Sons of Anarchy I want one of those midlife crisis bikes to relive the days when my belief of my toughness was far from the actuality of it.

Ok. I see that. Any help on the steps 4-8? Thanks for the props on my bike. I am a tech geek so I enjoy techy fast bikes. :D

Where do I find core properties in step 2? I'm sure it's right in front of me but I'm completely new to xcode.

No probs the core properties are on Buzztouch, when you open up your app in Buzztouch you will see a top menu bar for your app and core is the second menu. Click this and 4th option along is the configuration data url. And if you click on to this you will see an option in the menu to see the actual config data. Hope that helps
