Change icon size in button menu?

Hi, Is there any way to change the icon size for button menus? I can change the size of the button, but the icons are quite small, especially in iPod menu, where I've increased the button size.... any hints? Tanx

Hi Wendy, You're looking for the button size option under Advanced Menu Properties > Button Size on your button list screen in the control panel.

Hi Parker, I've used that menu & altered the margins, text size & button size, but I don't see a way to change the icon size... am I missing something? Properties menu - http://share.ovi.com/media/Polz.public/Polz.10575 ipod screenshot - http://share.ovi.com/media/Polz.public/Polz.10576?sort=0 ipad screenshot - http://share.ovi.com/media/Polz.public/Polz.10577?sort=0 As you can see, the icons in the big ipad buttons don't scale up with the button size.... they look tiny & sad!!! LOL ;]

Can you not take the icon and resize it in Gimp or Photoshop and then add it back to the project?

What size are the actual icons? The .png/.jpg files? You can try scaling them up in an image editing program, but that can lead to pixelation. I'm guessing you'll need to re-create larger ones.

@Parker - I have no idea what size they are - they're just the default icons that are in Buzztouch when I select the 'select icon' option & up comes the window of icons to choose from. I think you're right, creating larger ones is the go.... I thought that maybe there was a small device / large device option, as there is in the other button parts (size, margin etc), however I fully appreciate that this adds a whole other layer of complexity / storage etc for the backend... so no biggy! Just wanted to be sure I hadn't missed something. Tanx again 4 ur help!

Aa-ha....icon/background image confusion. Happens alot, we should have been clearer on this. In fact, the 'icons' should probably not even be an option for the buttons, almost nobody understands them! Funny. Two concepts: first, the 'box size' is the size of the button and the size you can change in the control panel. When you increase or decrease the button size you are changing the size of the 'box'. Next, the icon. The icon (if used) sits on 'top' of the box. The idea is that you can use a cool background graphic for the box, one you make on your own and include in the project. Or, you can use a background color. Then, the icon goes on top. If you use a generic icon from the control panel choices it will always be about 25x25 pixels. They are not all the same but close. This means if you have a big box, like 75 x 75 with a tiny icon it will probably look funky. the sample button screens in the conrol panel show a 57 x 57 button with an icon. The best apps dont' even use an icon on top of the box. Instead, they use a differeent background image and no icon. The background image for each button is the graphic. Tons of ways to make good graphics for buttons but for sure adding a cheezy icon on top of super-duper-bitchin' artwork is probably a bad idea ;-)

Good points!! I am just so excited to show my boss the prototype, & I know if I start creating my own buttons, I'll be there for days!! (too much fun!!), plus I'm loving my transparent white rounded squares with white icons - they look clean and simple (good for my app - electoral business) - http://share.ovi.com/media/Polz.public/Polz.10576 - whatchathink? looks shocking on ipad, though!! :) if I get the go ahead to proceed, I'll create my own. Thanks for the clarification!

Your screenshot - dude, you're a ninja - looks awesome! The Sydney > Hobart pics are driving me insane, huge sailor fan here. Monterey sailing is 'okay' but nothing like that. Soooooo dream about even seeing those kinds of boats, let alone sailing one. San Francisco gets some good stuff (90 miles north) every now and then but not often. Good stuff.

I know, we're so lucky to see them sail right past!! They are amazing - but you'd never catch me on one!! It looks amazing & fun on a lovely day in the river, but the tv coverage of what they cop crossing the Bass Strait is terrifying!! Tanx for the feedback!
