Please Help! Need Walkthrough for Exporting App in Eclipse

Could someone possibly walk me through the process of exporting my Android app after compiling it in Eclipse? I have no idea about how to go about it and the internet does not seem to have any answers without terminology that is completely unfamiliar to me. I have gotten as far as clicking the export option under the file menu, and I know enough to select Export Android Application, but when it comes to the keystore and signing process I am completely lost. And how does one change the manifest debuggable attribute (whatever this is and wherever it's located) to false so that I can release the app to the public? And what does debugging after export do in the first place? I'm completely new to this whole development thing and I know basically nothing about code, although I am trying to learn. I can't pay someone to tell me this. So, I'm relying on some kind soul to break this down for me or direct me to someplace where I can find the answer explained simply in layman's terms. Thank You!!!!

I wrote a short walk through in this thread. The first part is all you need to worry about (the export) unless you are using google maps, then you'll need to follow that process too. Let me know if you have any other questions. It can be confusing. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=DBE27AF95442FAD7878D254&status=&searchInput=maps&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC¤tPage=1&doViews=1

I managed to Export my app by following your directions. Thank you! (I guess I should have mentioned that my OS is Windows 7.) My next problem is: I have no idea what a debug key is... or a release key... and I don't know what the terminal is or if I even have one. :/ Sorry to be so dense. Can you possibly tell me where to go from here to submit it to Google or whatever I have to do to make it available? Thank you so much for your help!!!

No problem. Are you using google maps in your app? If not, then it should be pretty easy from here. If you'd like, I'd be happy to test your app for you before you submit it. You can email the apk file you saved to [email protected] To publish, you will need an android developer account (they're free). Go here and click the 'Learn More' link under publish. It's pretty straight-forward.

That's great! I'll email you the file right now, and then check out the Android account.
