Still No Emulator - What's wrong?

HelloWorld tutorial step by step works exactly as it should until I click Lauch button for the emulator. I always get: [2011-08-30 11:25:23 - Emulator] invalid command-line parameter: Files. [2011-08-30 11:25:23 - Emulator] Hint: use '@foo' to launch a virtual device named 'foo'. [2011-08-30 11:25:23 - Emulator] please use -help for more information I've removed everything - reinstalled -step by step again - no spaces in any info. Do I need to modify a command-line parameter? If so, where do I do that? Does this just not work on a windows machine? I have the same issue on XP & windows 7 machines - they are both 64 bit. I'm losing my mind here - this shouldn't be this hard. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze help. I can't be the only one with this issue. Thanx -Tim

You're not the only user with the issue, multiple posts and solutions are just a search button click away!

look at the top of the eclipse SDK panel, click on window, and then preferences, and then type in the following as the SDK location C:\PROGRA~1\Android\android-sdk note - for some reason , the formatting of this statement is getting screwed up - do a search online ps, i had exactly the same problem, and this resolved it, why .... no idea onto the next problem , google maps

I have C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk and it accepts it as valid. I'm not sure what you are sayig is getting screwed up or what I'm searching for online. Sorry to be so thick. I appreciate the help.

C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdk that is the problem .... replace that statement in the permissions with this C:\PROGRA~1\Android\android-sdk the problem I am having is for some reason, the backslashes are disappearing when I press enter so it should be C:backslashPROGRA~1backslashAndroidbackslashandroid-sdk

Where are you entering this? Are you in Preferences>Android? I can't get eclipse to accept anything but the actual folder path. You said permissions? Where is that? Also am I correct in assuming that C:PROGRA~1Androidandroid is actually C:\Program Files (x86)\1Android\android-sdk ??

look at the top of the eclypse panel and then click on the window button, select preferences from the dropdown box, a box will then appear, there is a box with sdk location, if it says this C:Program Files (x86)1Androidandroid-sdk , try replacing this with C:PROGRA~1Androidandroid-sdk 3 backslashes needed to be added, but for somereason they disappear after i hit enter
