Can't open in eclipse

So I made a real quick test app to see what I was working with esentially. After I downloaded the zip and unzipped it onto my desktop I tried to open in Eclipse using file/open/project, android, android app and its not opening. It doesn't give me an error it just will not let me click next. I select the entire folder that was zipped and I get nothing. I am using Eclipse 3.7 with all the new stuff (everything was downloaded fresh 2 days ago) what am I doing wrong?

Sounds to me that you have issues with the eclipse installation. Wish I could help you further.

everything else looks good though? I did the updates that it said by going to install update and entered the address for the google web developer thing and the other update to get the android folder in the projects tab. Anything else I might need? if not I will just reinstall eclipse and try again. Is there another program to use besides eclipse?

This is what works for me: In Eclipse, 1. File --> New --> Android Project 2. Name the Project. Select Create project from existing source. Browse to your downloaded project directory. 3. Select the Google APIs (1.6) 4. Click finish

That's what I try and do, after I select the project file it locks everything else from being able to be selected so I cant select google apis 1.6 or finish. thats why i think im either doing something wrong or else something could be wrong with my eclipse download.

You don't import, you create a new project

I have 3 different Eclipse versions (galileo, Helios & Indigo) in one of the versions (can't remember which) you don't get that option Instead you have to choose: File > New Project > Android Project (just a longer route to the same end result)
