Two things to consider if the above is true. 1. Where is your image? - If it's being accessed from a data URL, the image will have to download before it can be displayed. It will load faster from that point on as the image will be saved in cache but the first time will be slow. 2. If it's embedded in the project make sure the image is only as big as it needs to be. I've gotten rid of my splash screen, replaced those two images with the image I WANT for my splash screen, and it works perfectly! No black image, no delay!
