Bug Report v1.5 : Hide Bottom Tab Bar Not Working on Quiz Page

Hi, I have a tabbed app, one tab linking to a quiz screen. For the quiz screen, I selected Hide Bottom Tab Bar because the tab bar was causing the fourth quiz answer option to be hidden. After enabling the Hide Bottom Tab Bar, I did a refresh of the app, but nothing changed. The tab bar is still there, and I still can't see the last quiz answer option. Bug or am I missing something else? Thanks! Mark

Not missing something. Bug - could be considered that. The Tabs should not allow you to select some screens as the home screens for a tab. Because the control panel lets you select anything you want as a tabs homescreen, I guess that's a bug. Funny. Quizzes and a few other screens are NOT good as tab home screens. There's a few reasons for this. The biggest one, like you discovered, is screen real-estate - there isn't enough! The hide-bottom tab bar option does nothing on a screen that is the home-screen for a tab. Tapping a tab will not magically make the tab hide. Consider what would happen if that were the case - all the tabs would go away making your app 'stuck' with no way to get to the other tabs - because their hidden! The hide-bottom-tab bar is useful when transitioning from one screen to the next, usually a menu. a) Make a menu called 'Quiz' b) Add a menu item to the menu that loads your quiz (the quiz already has the hide-bottom tab bar set like it should) c) Set the quiz tab's home screen to your new menu Refresh. Now, the tab for the quiz will show the menu. Tapping the menu item will transition in the quiz and the tab-bar will be hidden. Back will show the tab bar again ;-)

Yep, that's a good workaround. It was my original plan, also, when I was going to develop multiple quizzes, with different questions for the different divisions. Then I decided to do one, and differentiate within the quiz. Now back to my original plan! I totally understand the real estate issue...certainly is not enough! On a related note...any possibility of adding True/False questions to the quiz? That would be a nice addition, and a good way to mix the quizzes up. Thanks! Mark

True / False and also User entered text with 'no right or wrong' - totally needed. Super bogged down on this Android v1.5 thing. CANT WAIT to get it done so we can add tons more screens to this thing.

Totally want Android more than True/False, so keep it going as is! Thanks!
