Trying to get started - Downloaded SDK and AVD - Then downloaded Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers - Why is there no Android new project available there?

I'm not terrific with any of this, but I've downloaded the Eclipse above. The SDK and AVD manager work great, but I can't link them to my eclipse? The new project doesn't have an Android option...Did I download the wrong Eclipse or what? Thanks for any help!

Doesn't matter what version of Eclipse you have On the file menu: Window > Preferences > Android then restart Eclipse then on the Android tab show eclipse the location of your unzipped Android SDK Also, don't forget to download the required Google API packages using the AVD SDK manager, also handy is the keytool package from sourceforge for viewing your certificates, primarily the MD5 fingerprint which you need if you want to get the Google Maps API Need any more help give me a shout - see my post here (contact details at the bottom of the post) http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=10803E37F4563B064A718B1 Also another members post here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=D1A85679683202E7C5119AF Steve

There isn't an Android option under preferences. Woah there guy, you're not speakin' my language (ever seen Tommy Boy?)...I think I have the Google API packages downloaded already...under the AVD SDK manager it says I have installed (Google APIs by Google, Android API13, revision 1) Again, sorry, I'm slow at this. Thanks

when preferences is selected you are presented with a box with a list down the left hand side second down below 'general' is 'android' if you're not seeing that then you have missed something in the eclipse setup - I can take a look via Teamviewer if you like shouldnt take long to get you sorted, email me at steveholt66 'at' gmail 'dot' com

Still not seeing the android (under the general) Like Steve said, I must have missed something in the eclipse setup...Any ideas?

Watch the BuzzTouch video Android: Testing your Eclipse install with the Android SDK. I followed it step by step and was up and running in no time.
