Buzztouch Website UI Facelift.

Am I the only one thinks the Buzztouch.com website needs a facelift? I absolutely LOVE Buzztouch but I don't think the UI represents the quality of the tools provided. I'd be willing to contribute for free to enhance the UI. Your thoughts? Any one else willing to contribute if the owners are game for it? I think we could make it looks amazing. also have some suggestions for the workflow/organization of the V1.5 interface. All the best, Matt

I'm happy with how it looks, however, I would love a slightly better search for the forums, as it seems to only search thread subject titles at the moment...

The good BT gents are thankfully putting together things like Android v1.5 and HTML5 web apps. Don't judge a book by it's cover. The forum I believe is an ongoing project. Agree with ichigo though but again believe this is ongoing. My 2 cents but i have no gripes about the UI, I log in, look at forum then jump into my apps. Love it. Simple and straightforward. We all have different views I know but compared to the competition (which there is none!) the UI is more than adequate. I'm sure they appreciate all feedback though. The product has made me 100's of dollars.

@macapple I'm with you on that, this website and obviously the awesome gents behind it have 100% of my gratitude and appreciation.. Like you say their main focus, as it should be, is in the back end coding.. hope I didn't come across wrong! m(_ _)m

Not at all, not at all. Agree with you. Just lost a family pet so maybe I sound negative. Good to talk! Peace.

Thanks for your replies. I guess it's the graphic designer/inventor in me that's always looking for ways to improve EVERYTHING. I totally appreciate the BuzzTouch owners focusing on what they do best, that is why I offered to collaborate and do it for free, especially since BT is free, I mean it's the least I could do. It would be cool to have the BT community pour back into the BT owners for all they have done for us. Also, from my viewpoint I'm going to be spending thousands of hours in the BT lab cooking up my concoctions, so why not have an environment that is more aesthetically pleasing, just my personal thoughts. I have some ideas for streamlining the development process as well. I am totally not saying that it is inadequate, it just could use some extra touches here and there. It's like DOS vs Windows, the user interface really makes the difference. Don't go crazy shooting me down for using windows as an example I'm a mac owner and a Windows owner. Just saying, but also now realizing that you can't please everyone and the minute you try to, is the minute that you loose focus on doing the main thing. Not a good place to be, it's all downhill from there. Anyway, thanks for the responses. I appreciate the feedback. -Matt

applause to all. @ taprootphoto: If your designer chops are as cool as the avatar, we're all in for a treat ( cool digs).... Thanks tons for the generous offer. We've created a few spins on the layout for some of the buzztouch server installs we've done. We are never sure which is better...clients love the work when the log into their shiny new server but the public buzztouch.com site is always a question mark. Super-duper-kung-fu pro UI work is really hard to come by. If you have some layouts or some suggestions..or..heck...some HTML - by all means send it. Maybe we could post a few 'looks' to the help screen and get some feedback? We are always open to new ideas and spring cleaning is never bad. Thnx again gang.

Hey Kete. Is your pic that way round cos you are down under? Agreed, great community and always good to hear different views and see people offer their ninja coding skills. Sometimes I think I sound like an ass on here and other times I just know I am. @ taprootphoto Your city was one of the first places I visited over here, few people I met couldn't understand my brogue. Would love some feedback from you for a site of mine if you ever get a minute. Email me at Keith at Aipple dot com if you get a chance.

@taprootphoto - That looks great. I like the underlying bee theme to go with the BUZZ in Buzztouch. Nice work.

@MacApple Thanks man I'll check that out. I have an idea for you. Go put your website on Dribbble.com where real designers display their portfolios for honest feedback and see what kind of feedback you get. Maybe you should get the chip of your shoulder and stop being a jerk and you'll have more friends and more success. Honestly, if buzztouch has only made you 100's of dollars then you probably need some feedback from real designers and true creatives. You should be making 1,000s of dollars easily with this AMAZING tool. Jeez, I don't know where you get off with your reply to the feedback i gave, that YOU requested. Get a freaking life, dude.

@taprootphoto: Not sure what I'm missing but I doubt anyone intenttionally offended you. I'm thinking there must be a post or something I missed? Cool design work. I'll show it around the office and post some feedback.

@David There is a certain person here who asked for feedback on their websites design. The site was such a mess that there was no way I could give him the feedback he needed in a quick email. So, I suggested that if he would like my professional feedback I could offer him a consultation, his site needs a serious facelift. Hours if my time would need to go into giving proper feedback. I have kids to feed and bills to pay I don't consult people for free. His response was to insult me as a father and a business owner and to tell me I didn't know how to put a business plan together and that I needed him to show me how to do business proposal. Jeez, he asked for my feedback... honestly I think he just wanted a pat on the back, it's obvious that no one else has given him honest feedback because his site's design, color scheme and choice of stock icons and photos is awful. Anyway after wasting my time in email correspondence I've decided to ignore this individual. Every thing about the Buzztouch community has been amazing thus far, other than my interaction with this person. I am so thankful that I found you guys. This person has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I guess theres always one bad aipple trying to spoil the bunch. I started this thread in hopes of giving back to the Buzztouch community. I guess it was dumb of me to offer my opinion when it was never asked. I'll probably be staying out of the forums, I hate it when you have cyberbullies always looking for opportunities to push people around. Oh yeah, My first app was approved on my first submission with no revisions needed. But I probably don't know aipples from oranges, when it comes to design. Peace

@taproot now now you are better than that, just dust yourself off, keep your head up and don't let certain people get to ya - eyes front forward march - and que sera sera. :)

At the risk of perpetuating nonsense I feel compelled to respond to this post as I have deep respect for this forum. The Buzztouch forum was a true find for me and it has been a tremendous help as I endeavor to get mobile apps developed and published. I have submitted and compiled apps for free, seeking help and providing help and feedback in a constructive way when I can. My posts total over 450 without issue until this ridiculous episode came along. I am an IT professional with a full time job. I am also an entrepreneur developing a fledgling business and I set out to create a website in my spare time without the benefit of professional resources. For what it is worth - the website has served it's purpose and it remains a work in progress. As a mater of fact I am an established LLC conducting and maintaining business (outside of apps) with a growing portfolio of clients. I reached out to the Buzztouch community for feedback and perhaps some tips that I could take into consideration. The reply that was sent to me was very condescending and unnecessary. Useful advice was not offered only snide comments about how much I needed the help of the person providing feedback and the help was available for a significant fee. Never mind that I was not seeking a solicitation for a website redesign - those resources are readily available to me - I just haven't put the time and money into upgrading my site as of yet. The disturbing part was the arrogance of the responder and the notion that he was somehow the best in terms of creative website design. A quick look at his portfolio of work told me otherwise and I felt inclined to point that out. For the record - a lot of misplaced negative energy and nasty comments have been directed at me and that is something I find personally and professionally offensive and it isn't something I experience in these types of venues. At this stage I hope to continue contributing to Buzztouch and benefiting from the advice and expertise of peers that are interested in professional development and not behaving as if we were in a school yard brawl. Cheers to all especially the BT crew whose help has been of tremendous value to me.
