Video hosted on Brightcove

I can't use video that I already have up on brightcove.com because their links don't use the file type in the link. (the link doesn't end in .mov or m4v etc...) How can I use my video assets from there here? Is that something you could change to work with brightcove video files?

I would suggest throwing the videos you own up on a dropbox account or other free service that will let you access them from the web. There are quite a few out there. I've personally never heard of brightcove before, and considering all of the priority development projects we have going on, it could be a very long time before we even begin to consider developing for it. But, if the demand arises for it, we'll certainly consider it.

A file extension is necessary because the app uses it to learn what type of file is being downloaded. Parkers idea is sound and probably the best choice. It sounds to me like brightcove doesn't want you to host video data on their servers to simply download to another 'player' or process to play (which is why they obfuscate the URL to the actual file). They probabaly want you to visit their player on their site ;-)
