Icon Glow / effects Question

Hi I am almost ready to submit my app to Apple. I am using Xcode 4.0.2 and Buzztouch 1.5 One question first, I notice that the icons appear to have the glow and rounded corners already when I run in the simulator and when I test on physical devices. Not sure if Buzztouch added this automatically or if it is Xcode that did it. The icons in the finder appear normal. My question relates to submitting to apple. Do I need tell them to not to apply the effects during submission, because I have them already. and if so how. Or perhaps I need them to apply the effect to the icons. I am not sure what I am supposed to do. There is a setting for the plist file in Xcode from the drop down with a new row called: Icon already includes gloss effects this is a boolean setting. So if I set this to Yes will that make apple not apply the effect. Or something I found online is: adding a key to your Info.plist file: UIPrerenderedIcon set to YES will indicate that your icon is prerendered Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

No need to tell Apple, they read the file settings from your app. When you first upload your icon to Apple it may have the effects but once you upload your binary it should be the same as your app. -Matt

Do I need to add a setting in my app or is it in the app from buzztouch. I have not added a special setting related to icons since downloading source from buzztouch. Thanks for the help.

There is a super-secret way to tell Apple to NOT apply any special effects to your icon. This is rarely used and Apple does not like it. They expect your app to have a simple, square, non-glowing icon. iOS auto-magically applied the effects. When you upload your icon in your control panel we put a neat little shiny-glow on it when we display it in your control panel. We do this to try to show you what it will look like in your phone. Look at the graphic in your Xcode project, it's not shiny. The device ads the shine to it natively.

OK then, to make sure that I am clear. Basically I will let apple apply the shine as they would normally. Because I did nothing to add shine, rather it is the apple products that is doing it, which needs to continue if I want it to have a shine once it is on the app store. Is this correct? I looked and my icons do not have any shine in the Xcode project. Thanks
