Can I use both Image Name... and Image URL... for things like Image Name Small Device/Image URL Small Device? If so, will it first look in BT_images and if not found, fetch the data from the URL? I believe so...just want to confirm.

I believe you can only have one of those options filled out, if you have both filled out you will get a error (if memory serves right). It would never NOT find something in BT_Images, as theres no place for the image to go once there - but URL's can change/go offline, so checking if the URL is active and if not then grab from BT_Images makes more sense (rather then the other way around). even so, I'm preeeeety sure it doesn't work that way! :( David

No, don't use both. Pick one or the other for the small device image and for the large device image. It is ok to use the URL for the small device image and an embedded image (Image Name) for the large device, and visa versa. But you don't want to pointers to the same image.

darn....so is there any easy way to transition from URL to name in an already live app?

Na, to do that you need to get the image in the BT_Images folder - then you would have to push a update through apple (UNLESS the image is already in the folder thats published, then just get users to refresh). David.

thanks. one of my apps is taking up a lot more bandwidth than i thought so i need to change it from url to name. looks like i'll have to take it off the app store while a new binary is under review.
