HTML docs need connection?

First, I am new to BT (and iOS/Android development), and therefore am grateful for those creating BT and answering on the forums. I have learned so much just by reading. This may have been answered, but I must have missed it. One simple question: do HTML docs located in the app need an internet connection on the initial load? I know the Custom HTML files are accessed online, but what about an HTML doc? My reason for asking is that I would like (if possible) to not require an internet connection for my apps to work. Is that even possible? THanks again greatly for the work on BT and the support.
